About Dr. Robert Groves

A physician, healthcare executive, and thought leader, Robert Groves, MD, FCCP spent 27 years of his career in direct patient care. During this time, he founded and led a private practice, served as a member of single and multi-specialty groups, and rolled out and helmed one of the largest tele-ICU services in the country for a multi-billion-dollar integrated delivery system. For the more than 10 years since, he has held multiple leadership positions in that large delivery system, including senior clinical roles in traditional functions such as simulation, education, quality and utilization management, as well as value-based care.

Dr. Groves has an established track record of creating programs and consolidating business operations in healthcare, as well as conceptualizing, championing, and driving innovative new programs. The core of his success: energetic leadership. Dr. Groves is a peacemaker, proactively using education and dialogue to find common ground and champion forward-looking, productive healthcare programs. His collaborative innovation model centers around providing patients and members alike with both financial wellness and health care literacy alongside top-notch care.

Dr. Groves embraces strategy and innovation with passion. He thrives at the intersection of people and technology and is constantly looking for ways to make healthcare better, more engaged, and personally closer to what he experienced growing up in Georgia.

He earned a bachelor of science degree from Center College of Kentucky, a medical doctorate at the Medical College of Georgia, and undertook internships and residencies at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a Critical Care specialty and is a fellow for the American College of Chest Physicians and an advisor to Microsoft and CareCentra, among others.
